Replace high-beam bulb (GTI style grill)

How to replace a blown high-beam bulb on the GTI style front end. No tools are needed for this repair.

Try not to touch the glass of the bulb when replacing. Grease and dirt from your fingers can damage the bulb when it's hot.

Step 1 - Remove the rubber cover on the back of the headlight

Simply peel back the rubber cover.

Remove rubber headlight cover

There is a wire clip holding the bulb in place. Squeeze the right side of it to hinge it out.

Undo bulb clip

There is only 1 white wire going to the bulb. The other brown grounding wire connects to the bulb's surrounding bracket and can be left alone.

Extract the high beam bulb
